Questions
Can you tell me the owner's name?
For most land, not for free, and nobody else can honestly either. HM Land Registry only publishes owners' names on the title register, which costs £7. We show you exactly which title to buy, so you don't waste money on the wrong one.
Where does the information come from?
HM Land Registry's title outlines and the government's Planning Data platform, both open data, plus postcodes from the Office for National Statistics and Ordnance Survey. We fetch it live, so it's as current as the government's own copy.
Does it cover Wales and Scotland?
Not yet. The title outlines and planning data we use cover England. Unregistered Land Finder covers England and Wales.
Is this legal advice?
No. LandSleuth is a research tool built from public data. Check anything important with HM Land Registry, the council or a solicitor before you act on it.
