About this data

Every council in England must keep a register of previously developed land it thinks is suitable for housing, and update it at least once a year. We show the latest version published on the government’s Planning Data platform. Some councils update more often than others, so a site may have been built on or had its planning status change since. Being on the register doesn’t mean a site has planning permission or that its owner wants to sell. Check with the council before relying on any of it.

Each site is shown at the point the council gave, not its boundary. To see the land itself and its title outlines, choose Who owns it? on any site.
