Land by council area

Every council area in England, with how much registered land it has by size, its brownfield sites and land that may not be registered, and what constrains it: Green Belt, flood risk, farmland quality and distance to the grid, plus how it’s doing on housing delivery and how old its local plan is.

Councils failing the Housing Delivery Test

These 91 councils built under 75% of the homes they needed in the government’s Housing Delivery Test 2025, so national policy’s presumption in favour of sustainable development applies to housing applications there, subject to protective policies such as Green Belt. Lowest first.
